With our breeding trap, you can collect and protect the eggs of spawning fish—ideal for breeding Pearl Gourami.
Bind a good amount of moss (e.g., Spiky Moss) to the attachment and screw it onto the glass. The trap works best in a separate breeding tank with no other plants.
(A detailed breeding guide will follow in a blog article.)
Place the trap in the aquarium and wait a few days.
The fish will spawn in the attached moss, and the eggs will fall through the grid into the glass. This way, they are protected from egg predators, snails, and shrimp.
The eggs can then be removed from the glass, for example, using a pipette with a large opening, and transferred to a breeding tank.
To prevent egg fungus, we recommend using almond leaves or alder cones, both in the breeding and rearing tanks.
For glass jars with a 75mm diameter – without glass!
